What is TPO - TPO is a type of single-ply roofing in which the sheets of TPO are used as the primary waterproofing Material. TPO which stands for "thermoplastic polyolefin" is heat weldable (that's the thermoplastic part) and extremely UV-resistant. The standard thickness of TPO is 45-mil, 60-mil, and 80-mil. The thicker the material is, the longer the roofing membrane will last. A sheet of TPO membrane has three layers: a TPO polymer base, a polyester reinforcement fabric middle layer (called the "scrim") and a TPO polymer top ply. These three layers are heat fused at the factory to produce the final product. TPO systems are very popular for energy savings due to their UV reflectiveness and qualify for energy discounts. TPO also comes with various warranties such as 10yr- 15yr- 20yr- 25yr- and 30yr. Call T&M Roofing to help you go over your project and figure out your best options.
